The best way to treat bad cholesterol is to love yourself. Now, I don’t mean giving yourself a candlelit dinner with chocolate covered strawberries for dessert. I mean loving yourself by treating your body in the best way possible. Obviously, that means eating right and exercise, but it definitely isn’t as simple as just typing it here. If it were, we wouldn’t have so many people with cholesterol issues today.
So, maybe we should think of our body as if it were our child. Would we let our kid eat ice cream before bed and lounge in front of the TV all day? Of course not! We would tell him that certain snacks will ruin his appetite or that all of that sugar isn’t good for him. We would also tell him to go outside or sign him up for the local soccer team. We know that these things are bad for us, but for some strange reason, they don’t apply after we hit a certain age.
Once we make that mental decision to start loving ourselves, the next steps will unravel before our eyes. Of course, it’s going to be hard, really hard! But, we’re adults and have the maturity to deal with it. Let’s turn back the clock on our body by treating it like those we love best!
